Sunday

Week #8 At A Glance

This will be our longest week. The following mileages are variations drawn from a combination of the 500/750 goal sheets. The days will continue to reflect a hard/easy/medium pattern that we've been using all summer long. August is supposed to be a transition month insofar as it prepares us for our first month of racing in September. The emphasis for the next 3 weeks will be to increase the mileage as well as a step towards intensity.

Below you will find a tweaking of the groups as we now have four:

Weekly Totals (The number in parentheses for the "camp squads" includes a Sunday run which is optional for those who want to observe that day for religious reasons. Otherwise, we fully expect you to run on this day.)

Camp Boys--63(73)
Camp Girls--51(60)
FS/JV Boys--46
JV Girls--40

If you are not part of that "Camp Squad", but would still like to join in on the increased mileage, then you most certainly can. The important thing here is to "listen to your body"...You should know by now what you are capable of doing. So, if you want to join the varsity for a couple runs, then you may. That can be your choice based on how you feel.

Daily Totals in descending order as described above: numbers in red indicate afternoon mileage. Numbers in blue indicate camp mileage.

M--9.5/8/7/6
T--6.5/5.5/4.5/4
W--12.75/10/11/10
TH--6.5/5.5/4.5/4
F--9.5(5)/8(4)/7/6
SA--13/10/11/10
SU--10/9

Tomorrow's Run

We will use the Camp Boys Map for all the runs. See notes below next to the levels for the variations.

CB--See map link above.
CG--go out the same way through montrose but head up Ocean View and hook back on course (to Montrose Ave.) and finish the same way as the map shows you.
FS/JV--go out the same way but head right on Montrose Ave. to Waltonia and back the same way as shown on map.
JV girls--Go to the 3 mile mark (first fwy overpass just past the 2 exit) and turn around and head back the way as shown on the map.

  1. JV girls run - did you mean the 4-mile mark at the frwy overpass or the 3-mile mark at the intersection of Cornishon and Descanso?

  2. no, there was a malfunction with the old map (??) where the 3-mile marker had shifted; but now, is still at the freeway pass. see new map...
