All three teams (Varsity, JV, Sophfrosh) should be prepared that they will have to fight for the win, to the last man all the way to the finish line with South Pas. They will be coming after us with confidence after Lacy Park and Mt Sac.

Some advice for tomorrow:

The Beginning:

1. Race smart first and then race hard. They don't hand out any medals at the first mile mark.
2. Don't go out crazy, but don't lose contact either.

The Middle:

3.When you pass another runner, pass with authority. Leave them behind and immediately look forward, moving on to the next guy or group. the best way to forget the pain is to pass people, to RACE.
4. If you find yourself in the lead mid race, relax and find a fast rhythm. Think of leaving the other runners in your wake doubting their ability to catch you.
5.Talk to your teammates, encourage each other. Remember that everyone is feeling the pain. Try to pass other runners in groups of 2, 3, 4 or 5.

The End:

5. Remember, the time to decide who you will take before the finish line is on that last long downhill. Pick those guys out and keep them in your sights no matter how far ahead they may seem to be. And when you catch them surge past and don't look back.
6. Pump your arms and drive your knees on that last 400 meters. Get over that last bridge and then charge the downhill and into the final stretch.

And finally, remember that we know this course, we run it well and we are prepared. You've trained together all season long for this, so run inspired. Fight the pain for each other when things get tough. If you do, I promise you will find something bold, deep down inside of you, a new and unique source of power that you didn't know existed. It is something you will find and feel individually within, but share and enjoy as a team. That feeling can be something rare that very few people on earth ever get to experience. Embrace this opportunity to achieve greatness and then go after it. You will be pleased with the outcome.

I love you guys and I'm proud of every one of you!
