My impressions: If you look at your time and compare them to Staub-Barnes results, you will notice whether you could've run faster or not on Friday. A good rule of thumb, by way of comparison, is to take away between 15-35 seconds off your S-B results to get a rough estimate of where your SAC times should be. Now, granted, a weather variable needs factoring into your time, especially if you ran an earlier race. However, my belief is this: if you ran your first mile intelligently (i.e. not too fast), then the weather shouldn't be too huge of an effect on your race's outcome. You can get away with running a fast first mile on most courses--NOT MT. SAC!! Also, if you ran Clovis, then your time there should be about 30 seconds slower than at Mt. SAC. Remember, Clovis is a 5K--about 180 yards longer!--again, subtract about 30 seconds from Clovis to get your Mt. SAC time.
Compare your times with other courses. Remember, Staub-Barnes and Clovis are very comparable. Mt. SAC (2.91 miles), even with its hills, should be about 30 seconds faster than both.
