Race Day!

Congratulations!!!

Great racing, Spartan Runners!! We are right on track with our training. I've always known that. We didn't rest and are training right through today for the bigger prize in a couple months. Today was about proving to ourselves that we have what it takes to get into the battle and handle the fight. And that's what we did! Not only did we compete well, but we found out that we could dig just a little bit more for the sake of our teammates. That's what impressed me the most. It was obvious to me that we wanted to do well for our team--and that's the only way to win in cross country.

Below you will find snap shots (literally) of the results. Coach Thatcher will be putting them all together on a spreadsheet, but I thought you might like to see the score board. Unfortunately, we left before the JV girls were record. I know the host of the meet will supply us with them in a couple days.

Highlights:
  • 1st place positions for their respective races: Nic Tourani (JV), Holly Schrekengast (VG), and Aayush Shah (VB);
  • an impressive perfect score (15) by our JV Boys;
  • a sub-minute (52 seconds) BV spread between 1st and 5th, 1:03 between 1st and 7th, and a scant 14 seconds between 3rd and 7th place.
